Our good friends over at dealnews.com is sponsoring the DWPP with an 80 port switch so we will have plenty of room for everyone to plug into!
If you haven’t heard of dealnews.com, then you’ve probably been living under a rock somewhere. They have been able to find me enough deals that it’s one of my few daily bookmarks. Highly recommend you go see what they have to offer, and be prepared to pull out your wallet, because you WILL find something that is a great deal, and you have to have it.

There are going to be a lot of great events at the DWPP, and so far, it’s turning out to be one of the biggest Cons we’ve hosted. [Click to see Full Schedule] Here is just a bit of what we have planned:
TF2 2v2: Pick your team mate and we’ll load up the server with Cyber-Punk and then the fun begins! Who knows.. maybe you’ll find a spy in the discotheque!
CP: After Dark - You know what that means. Some crazy TF2 action.
Rock Band - If we have enough teams, there will be a tourney. If not, just a lot of fun Rock band action.
Ruggbys Trivia - We’ll eat lunch on Saturday at Ruggbys, a local sports bar. They have a trivia system, so if you have an ipad or iphone, download the free NTN trivia app so we can have plenty of trivia boxes to go around!
SC2 - We’ll be running some Star Craft 2 events as well for people who have a copy of this game.
WizWar - Wes will be running his world famous WIZ WAR! Sponsored by @joehills
TFC - Robin Walker from Valve has given us 24 keys for TFC, so we’ll get an awesome 12v12 match going!
We Built This Town - Release Party & Birthday Bash to celebrate One year of THE SHAFT!
Minecraft Resource Gathering - The Makers Local 256 will be hosting a minecraft gathering tourney with software they built to keep track of everyone’s resources!
Board Games - All weekend long you’ll be able to play some of the board games you’ve never heard of. There’s always fun to be had with these gems.
Minecraft Build - We will have a server up all weekend long where you can go in and build to your heart’s content.
We hope that this sounds like a lot of fun, because I know we’re all super excited, and can’t wait for the first arrivals!! Which oddly enough are going to be some of our Canadian brothers and sisters. I guess they can’t wait to leave that country or maybe the Mounties have developed some incredible transportation system.
See you all in just a few days!

The DWPP is a small affair compared to big cons. With only 40ish attendees it is small in comparison. And HARD to get sponsors to see the value in donating goods. That is why we appreciate the sponsors even more than they know.
So far, we have been sponsored by these great companies and are waiting on a few more possibilities.
dealnews.com - Has donated an 80port switch so we can have an incredible lan set up for gaming!
LethalDrive - Who is donating a Prize of a FREE 512MB server for 3 months with Free mysql/debranding/managed plugins package!
Curse - Who is donating 5 premium accounts as prizes
Bawls - Who has donated stickers, keychains and mints
Valve - Who has donated 24 codes for TFC & some swag.
Makers Local 256 - Will be running a Minecraft tourney with custom code to keep track of your items!
Ruggbys - They will be donating use of the NTN trivia system and appetizers for our Trivia Lunch!
We hope that everyone appreciates them as much as we do, and take the time to check out their websites and see what they have to offer.
If you use the curse network, think about getting the premium service. It’s really worth it. If you are thirsty and need some refreshment to keep you up gaming, go grab a Bawls. And if you are buying a PC game, check out steam and buy it there first before any other service! Not to mention, a bunch of new items in the Valve store! And don’t forget, Makers Local 256, always up to something geeky and interesting. So head over to their site and find out how you can get involved! And if you play Minecraft — Got get you a server from Lethal Drive! They have a great package just for our listeners (coupon code ‘theshaft’)
Also, if you are a company looking for a bit of press, we will be putting all sponsors on the sponsors page. I’ll add new ones here. We’ll be having their names streaming throughout the convention on the live stream, and we’ll be giving them a big thank you on our post shows.
It may not be too late to mail stuff in, but we can definitely give out digital goods as well. And a big hearty thank you from us and all our fans! Just email me at: brent@deadworkers.com

Can’t really describe how busy we are here at the DWP. Eric is madly working on the video to have it ready for the 8th, and from what I have seen so far, it is going to be awesome.
We’re also working to get everything ready for the DWPP, which is becoming a challenge finding sponsors. I waited a bit late this year to start looking for sponsors, and now it’s coming down to the wire. May not be swag bags this year, but hopefully some cool prizes for some of the tournies.
But that’s really just fluff. The real deal is what is actually planned for the con. We’ve got the tentative schedule for friday/saturday worked up, and still trying to figure out what’s going on on Sunday. [Schedule]
Besides that, we have a Video series we’re finishing a rough cut for, which is due just a few days after the DWPP. Sounds like no one in the DWP is sleeping this week.
Not to mention, getting everything ready for the 2 shows on this weekend, and the 2 shows on the DWPP weekend.
Don’t take this as a BOO HOO HOO post. We love this. We want to do this 24/7 and are sick of regular jobs getting in the way. So if you hear another sponsor message during a show, just remember that if we can get to the point where we can quit our day jobs and do this full time, the flood gates will open and you will see so much content pour out of the DWP it won’t be funny.
Thanks for subscribing, and thanks for making everything we do worthwhile! Have a great week! And I hope to see you at the DWPP.

Gill Landry will be playing at the DWPP and he doesn’t even know it! How cool is that?! We’re having the DWPP at the Lowe Mill again this year, and on friday
night they have free concerts on the dock.
For the week of the DWPP, Gill Landry will be playing for 3 hours! I’ve been listening to the music on his site, and it’s going to be a good show!
Speaking of what’s happening at the DWPP, we’re currently working out the schedule and looking for sponsors! It is free, so don’t be expecting awesome swag bags, unless we get some sponsors! We will have posters of some sort for sale, as well as other DWP merchandise.
We do have a lunch planned at Ruggbys on Saturday. They are going to throw in some free appetizers for us! Yay! Also, they have NTN trivia that you may have seen at your local bar, and we’ll play a few rounds of trivia! They also have darts! If you have an iphone or ipad, you might consider getting the app (it’s free) so that we have plenty of trivia boxes to go around.

Con previously known as CP Con! Well, that was when we were only doing Control Point. Now we have many new friends with shows such as The Shaft and Core Elements, so we wanted to change the name to broaden it for all of our listeners.
I’ve had some message asking exactly what the DWPP is, so I thought I’d post a quick message to tell more about it.
It’s not really a con, and it’s not really a meet up… it’s somewhere in between.
This year we will have a mix of activities that revolve around Team Fortress 2 & Minecraft. And of course The Shaft and Control Point, so if you like any of those, I can almost guarantee you’ll have fun!
We’re renting out a space. Next to our studio and will have consoles going all weekend long for your fill of those, plus areas for you to hook your computers up. Working on games and panels and entertainment.
We want everyone to have a blast. That’s what it’s about. Celebrating this awesome community around the shows and the games.
Feel free to ask any questions about it as well.
And if that has sparked some interest, go register on the event site: http://dwpp.deadworkers.com
