Just in case you wanted a nice easy place to get to all our Minecraft Adventures! We’ve made a SHOW on youtube for them.

Brent loves these sort of things, so to make him happy, we’ve decided to tweet and post this. And he was kinda irked that the last awards show, we started like a week before the show and never talked about it. So here… Help Brent win a shorty. If he gets a shorty, he’ll do something stupid at the awards to make it worth your while, and film it.

You might have seen this posted on the minecraftforums.net on their main page, or maybe even you are a subscriber to the dead workers party youtube channel. Or just maybe you follow us on twitter.
If not, take a few minutes and watch the first 2 episodes (maybe even 3 by the time you read this —- hopefully not 4 or 5.. but even so.. just watch!) of our new series, SHIPWRECKED!
It has been a fun series to film, and we aren’t actually done filming yet. We probably have another night to film and this could end up being one of the longest series we’ve done so far.
We were trying to keep them to 10 episodes, so we could get to new content faster, because we feel that’s what people want to see. Let us know! Do you like longer series? Do we just need to start putting more than one out at a time? How are you liking the content?
Oh yeah.. and have you subscribed yet?
Here at the Shaft, and Dead Workers Party studio, we get wrapped up in our own little world trying to create content for you. One thing that we have dropped the ball on is getting in and supporting these great events, so we’re jumping in 2 feet on the MineThon.
Child’s Play is this generations charity. Games for Kids. Now that’s awesome. Here is more about Child’s play from their site:
Here’s The Deal
Since 2003, we’ve set up and organized Child’s Play, a game industry charity dedicated to improving the lives of children with toys and games in our network of over 70 hospitals worldwide. Over the years, you as a community have answered the call and come together to raise millions of dollars.
Child’s Play works in two ways. With the help of hospital staff, we set up gift wish lists full of video games, toys, books, and other fun stuff for kids. By clicking on a hospital location on our map, you can view that hospital’s wish list and send a gift.
Child’s Play also receives cash donations throughout the year. With those cash donations, we purchase new consoles, peripherals, games, and more for hospitals and therapy facilities. These donations allow for children to enjoy age-appropriate entertainment, interact with their peers, friends, and family, and can provide vital distraction from an otherwise generally unpleasant experience.
So this weekend, we will be donating some prizes to MineThon, and our time, and our stream. We are also going to be trying to get everyone we know involved with it to make this a really special event.
Please join us this weekend as we get ready for the Holidays, and as we think about the kids out there who are not going to be having a great holiday, and let’s do what we can to change that.
Here it is! Enjoy! An awesome map created by RSMALEC.

Not sure if we said that enough. We are back at the studio in good ol’ Huntsville, AL putting out new content such as, GRANDMA’S BIRTHDAY! But we can’t thank Mojang enough for such a great event at Minecon, and just making the game in general, and of course getting us to host a panel at minecon, and all of you who attended and filled up the room! It was truly amazing. I thought I was going to tear up a bit at the standing ovation you gave us! It was the most fun weekend in my entire life. Getting to meet you all and spend time with you even for the few minutes for some, and for drinks and dinner with others. It was absolutely amazing. Thank you!
So, now that we are back, I’ve got a ton of stuff to do at my day job, so I’ll be absent from the internetz while I get this stuff done for some dec deadlines, but I’ll try to get more posts out here, and on my blog: http://www.brentcopeland.com and of course, GO SUBSCRIBE to our youtube channel so you know when the next episode is coming out of one of our series!

Holy HELL! We are so excited here at the shaft and can’t wait for Minecon!! Just 2 days and we head off to Las Vegas.
We are SOOOO thrilled that the Shaft was chosen as one of the panels! We didn’t think we’d actually get a live time to podcast, but are so honored that we did. Thank you so much Mojang!
We got our schedule from the AWESOME Minecraft Chick! So we will be having a panel on Saturday at 2:45-3:45! We won’t be streaming out live, but we will definitely record and put it out on the feed asap.
If you want to get some inside to what’s happening at MineCon, you should go and listen to the MineCon Podcast #1: The Sunday Before.
We will also have some hats (Wolves & Pigs) to give away at the LethalDrive booth, so come by and see how you can enter to win one of these awesome hats! We will be hanging out there most of the weekend, so if you are looking for us, come find us at the booth!
Also, we wanted to thank TypeFrag.com again for hosting the pre-minecon panel. We got to bring A LOT of awesome Minecraftians together for a round table and get to record it, and they gave away 2 minecon tickets. It was truly an awesome night. Thank you all that were involved! We will release the audio on wed before we get on the plane.
So, if you are going to Minecon! Be sure to be at our panel:

Or something like that. Anyways.. I wanted to let folks know about some videos that you may never have seen of ours. We have our uStream service which we use every Sunday to stream out our shows, but we also are starting to use it for impromptu let’s plays.
Most of these lets plays are fairly off the cuff, so we might not air them on the DWPN youtube channel. SOOOO! Feel free to go the ustream channel and check out more!
We’ve had a lot of fun with the Mars Mission by RSMALEC and we hope that you’ve had a chance to watch some of the videos we’ve created from it.
We’re going a step further than our previous let’s plays and giving a bit of a cinematic quality to them. Let us know if you like how we’ve been doing the new ones.
And if you haven’t been watching them, here are the first 3!

Eric finished the bts of We built this town, and it is now viewable on youtube. You’ll get a glimpse of what it took to film it. You can also get a closer look at the tattoo and all the sets that were used, including the huge green screen stage.
We were talking last night about starting to do more videos in the future, and more songs. There are already a few in the pipe, and then hopefully we have some surprises coming up at the end of the year as well.
I also want to give a bit shout out to ToastedJelly who has been dealing with moving our servers from one host to another, which is no easy task. Also, our new server wants to start low on ram and ramp up. It’s common. Ever host we’ve been with has done the same thing. So, please bear with us as we get the ram increased to what we need to make sure the server is not laggy. And if I hear of ANYONE giving TJ a hard time about it, don’t be surprised if I ban you. None of this was his doing, and he’s doing everything he can to make it a smooth transition for all the players. Seriously, he’s been fighting hard to get more ram in to start with.
Hopefully we should have it up soon.
Oh yeah.. and you did vote today didn’t you? Only 10 days left… that means 10 more votes from you!! <3
Thank you all that have voted today, and seen our new video and produced minecraft content that we get to enjoy as well, and of course the whole Mojang Team who has created this game that was so incredible it sparked a microcosm that is now a megacosm and put us all together in the same room. Well as close as you can get separated by the array of tubez in the way.
Speaking of minecraft and being together… This weekend, on The Shaft, we’ll be talking with Paul Soares Jr again and see what he’s been up to since we last spoke with him and what he has planned for the future. Pretty sure we’ll slip in some minecon talk as well.
Join us at 3pm central on Sunday (Or earlier) for The Shaft, and be sure to vote for us daily for the podcast awards!
We’re trying to figure out a way to do this without it becoming some sort of spam fest. The Voting for the podcast awards has opened, and it’s going for 12 days, and you can vote once a day! So, PLEASE, vote, Once a day!
I don’t think there’s anything we get except for a little extra press, which always helps.
Anyways, head on over to the podcast awards, and vote for The Shaft, under the Gaming section!
Thanks!
We released the new Minecraft music video. Haven’t heard if notch likes it yet, but seems that a fair amount of folks are enjoying it! Let us know how you feel with a comment at the bottom of the video. [Video: We Built This Town]
We have also been nominated for the Podcast Awards, in the category of gaming! Voting starts tomorrow, and you can vote once a day - EVERYDAY for 2 week. We will try to keep the twitter spam to a low rumble, but we are very excited.

Our good friends over at dealnews.com is sponsoring the DWPP with an 80 port switch so we will have plenty of room for everyone to plug into!
If you haven’t heard of dealnews.com, then you’ve probably been living under a rock somewhere. They have been able to find me enough deals that it’s one of my few daily bookmarks. Highly recommend you go see what they have to offer, and be prepared to pull out your wallet, because you WILL find something that is a great deal, and you have to have it.
There are going to be a lot of great events at the DWPP, and so far, it’s turning out to be one of the biggest Cons we’ve hosted. [Click to see Full Schedule] Here is just a bit of what we have planned:
TF2 2v2: Pick your team mate and we’ll load up the server with Cyber-Punk and then the fun begins! Who knows.. maybe you’ll find a spy in the discotheque!
CP: After Dark - You know what that means. Some crazy TF2 action.
Rock Band - If we have enough teams, there will be a tourney. If not, just a lot of fun Rock band action.
Ruggbys Trivia - We’ll eat lunch on Saturday at Ruggbys, a local sports bar. They have a trivia system, so if you have an ipad or iphone, download the free NTN trivia app so we can have plenty of trivia boxes to go around!
SC2 - We’ll be running some Star Craft 2 events as well for people who have a copy of this game.
WizWar - Wes will be running his world famous WIZ WAR! Sponsored by @joehills
TFC - Robin Walker from Valve has given us 24 keys for TFC, so we’ll get an awesome 12v12 match going!
We Built This Town - Release Party & Birthday Bash to celebrate One year of THE SHAFT!
Minecraft Resource Gathering - The Makers Local 256 will be hosting a minecraft gathering tourney with software they built to keep track of everyone’s resources!
Board Games - All weekend long you’ll be able to play some of the board games you’ve never heard of. There’s always fun to be had with these gems.
Minecraft Build - We will have a server up all weekend long where you can go in and build to your heart’s content.
We hope that this sounds like a lot of fun, because I know we’re all super excited, and can’t wait for the first arrivals!! Which oddly enough are going to be some of our Canadian brothers and sisters. I guess they can’t wait to leave that country or maybe the Mounties have developed some incredible transportation system.
See you all in just a few days!
